Dear Family of Elder Jace Dale Simons:
Sister Harris and I just finished welcoming the missionaries that arrived this week to serve the Lord in the Chile Rancagua Mission. Attached is a photo for your family.
Missionaries will learn to be dedicated servants and love their Savior, Jesus Christ. As missionaries, they will develop greater desires to share the gospel with the Chilean people. The people in Chile are very kind and friendly. Missionaries have opportunities to share the gospel every day. We are excited to help your missionary learn to do that. The work of the Lord will make him happy. The Lord will bless him for the service he gives.
These first months on the mission are generally the hardest months of the mission. We have found that missionaries do much better on the mission if their mind and thoughts stay here in the work. When they are distracted they tend to get homesick and want to return home. The things you write in your letters have a great effect on your missionary. Help him keep his mind and heart in the work of the Lord by inspiring, edifying, and lifting him. Talking too much about home can be a distraction and cause homesickness. Thank you for the support that you provide, it is important to your missionary.
Sister Harris and I love the missionaries and we will take care of them during their time here. We ask for the Lord’s blessings upon all of you.
