Departure to Chile MTC

Departure day has finally arrived. Flight to Atlanta and then to Santiago leaves Salt Lake at 2:15 p.m. Dad, Mom, Brady and Elder Simons left for the airport that afternoon (January 9, 2018) at 12:15 p.m. He spent the last few minutes on the drive to clear his cell phone so he could give it to his dad. Pretty sure he'll have a little withdrawal going on. We gathered up his two HUGE suitcases, his carry on, and his satchel and made our way to the terminal. The check in process went way too fast for mom, she wanted it to last longer. Boarding passes in hand we headed to the security entrance. We took a few photos and gave hugs and down the winding security aisle he went. No tears on his part ready to get the time ticking. As soon as he stared walking mom started sobbing and dad had misty eyes. So many mixed emotions, proud, happy, excited, apprehensive, sad, not sure how to process it all.
